Rock On The River has a new venue at the Hollinger Park on October 1st and 2nd, and it’s big news for the entire region’s music scene.
Let’s face it, John Olaveson and the entire committee at Timmins Festivals and Events (TFEC) have done it again. Olaveson, the chair for the festival, commented, “The feedback has been off the chart; people are telling me this is our best lineup yet. Timmins has been waiting for this, but I honestly believe this could bring fans in from all of Northeastern Ontario,” said Olaveson.
In breaking news, Olaveson announced they sold almost 1000 tickets in 20 minutes. Last month, the TFEC announced it had received $250,000 from Ontario’s Reconnect Festival and Event Program.
Friday night headliners The Arkells (who just recently played three nights at the Bud Bowl, formerly the Molson Amphitheatre), and it sold out almost entirely for the three gigs.
The Timmins show will bring the Rally Cary Tour to the City with a Heart of Gold.
Saturday night, Two-time JUNO Award-winning rock band The Glorious Sons will return to Timmins; the band recently announced The Unfinished Business Tour will kick off December 2021 but will do this special gig in Timmins, October 2nd.
Currently nominated for a 2021 JUNO Award for Group of the Year, The Glorious Sons could return as early as 2022 with a new studio album.
